Welcome to Kickers TKD: The club was founded back in 1995 by Master Des Day under the banner of Days TKD. Des has had the privilege to represent his country both competing and as a National Team Coach.
We provide instruction for ages from 5yrs to adults. Our teaching ethos for children focuses very much on motor and listening skills with targeted coaching to develop focus, memory, team work, discipline, self control, balance and coordination. Our junior and adult training programme will cover physical fitness, awareness, self discipline, and self confidence.
Kickers TKD is a member of the British Taekwondo and is the Governing Body for World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Taekwondo in the United Kingdom.
British Taekwondo is a member of the WTF, British Olympic Association (BOA), the European Taekwondo (ETU) and recognised by UK Sport, the government agency for High Performance Sport as well as Sport England, as the National Governing Body for WTF Taekwondo in the United Kingdom.
British Taekwondo is responsible for all aspects of WTF/Olympic style taekwondo in the UK. This includes everything that is encompassed and practised through the Martial Art of Taekwondo, as well as selecting Great Britain National Teams to compete at the European and World Championships, and of course the Olympic Games.

Kickers TKD have clubs in Winchester and Eastleigh and Bournemouth with qualified instructors who are all CRB checked.
There are regular competitions especially for the novice competitor who wishes to develop their competitive skills in sparring (Kyorugi) and patterns (Poomsae) this is an ideal platform for the student who then wishes to advance their skills at National and international events which there are plenty.
Des Day has been involved in a wide degree of high intensity physical fitness training programmes for many years as well as being the National Taekwondo Team Coach for Great Britain which involved motivating, mentoring and getting the best results both physically and mentally out of our countries TOP athletes he has also been on the receiving end as a competitor being pushed to deliver podium results on both a National and International level.

Kickers TKD welcomes Sonya McLean on board as their Child Protection Officer. Sonya will help to ensure that every child or young person who practices Taekwondo should be able to participate in a safe environment.

The jacket is made by Prostar and is of very good quality. There will be printing on the back with the club symbol/logo on the front
Eleven students from Kickers TKD took part in the Commonwealth Open TKD Championships held in Whitely, Hampshire on 2nd Dec 2112. Attracting high calibre competitors from all ober the country.
With disciplines in full contact Sparring and Technical display the students came away with a tally of Eight Gold / Nine Silver & Four Bronze medals.

A sterling performance by just a small handful of students from Kickers TKD earned them a well respected 3rd place at the Southern Area Open TKD Championships that were held at Toynbee School, Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. Well done also to Ed Fraser (3rd Dan) who coached the team on the day. Preparations are now underway for the November 24th Commonwealth TKD Champs, near Fareham Hampshire.

The Kickers TKD kup gradings took place on Sunday 23rd Sept; from beginners taking their very first grading to the more advanced who were getting even closer to taking their black belt gradings. The day was a tremendous success with a 100% pass rate and needless to say very happy students. The afternoon was rounded off with a seminar covering aspects of competition Poomsae and Kyrougi, especially in light of the competition in a couple of weeks time on the 7th Oct; this was ideal preparation prior to the event.

Master Des Day was asked by Talbot House Prep School to run a taster session for their Year6 Children on Tuesday 19th March. The pupils were very attentive and performed some stunning Olympic kicking techniques. Although the session was short the pupils learnt more of this dynamic Olympic sport, TaeKwonDo.

Southern League Championships. A handfull of students from Kickers TKD attended the Southern League Championships on Sunday 2nd October. Kickers TKD are saying farewell to two of their instructors; Hayley Osborne & Katherine Diment. Hayley is off to University & Katherine is off to College; both students / Instructors have been invaluable to Kickers TKD and we would all like to wish them the greatest of success in their years of studying. No doubt there will be times when they are back at home they will pay us all a visit.
Congratulations to Master Tong Wan Shin for bring home a Gold medal from the 6th World Poomsae TaeKwonDo Championships held in Vladivostok, Russia. Master Shin is now two time World Poomsae Champion.
Kickers TKD was asked to put on demonstration for Wyvern Technology College; students from the club added some light humour as well as some great self defence, breaking and WTF sparring techniques.
